The correct helmet care for your SCHUBERTH

Long live the helmet!

Washing & polishing

After your final ride, you should clean the outer shell and face shield with mild, soapy water. Incidentally, you can do the same with the inner padding. You simply remove the padding and clean it with lukewarm, soapy water. Caution: Hand wash only - please do not put the padding in the washing machine.

Clean & dry

The helmet must be completely dry, inside and out, before being stored. So open the helmet and lower the sun visor. The helmet dries best in a well-ventilated area. Replace the inner padding, after it has dried out as well. Once all moisture has gone from the helmet, it may be stored in its helmet bag.

Checking & charging

Our communication systems work with Lithium-ion batteries, with a long life, if the care instructions are followed. It is important to prevent any deep discharge.

This entails charging the batteries every three months for around two hours. They need not be fully charged, but in this way you can avoid a so-called deep discharge.

Check & ride away

According to usage and care, you should replace the helmet every five or seven years. The outer shell has been designed for an extended life, but due to unknown factors, the helmet’s integrated systems could become difficult to assess, so for your own safety we therefore advise replacement once the above-mentioned period has elapsed.
