Flip-up helmet innovation

SCHUBERTH is well known for its new technologies and innovations. Many of these developments can be found in our famous flip-up helmets CONCEPT, C2, C3, C3 PRO, C3 PRO WOMEN and C4.

SCHUBERTH has written the history of helmets and continue to do so. We are proud of our first motorcycle helmet, which even in the 1950s considerably improved the safety of riders. The first protective work helmets, military helmets and police Hhlmets followed. Today these are in use worldwide and provide their wearers with protection and safety. Since 2000, we have equipped numerous Formula 1 drivers with the most modern head protection technology. SCHUBERTH Helmets are continuously being further developed. In this process, we match our head protection to all types of requirements and applications.

1998

CONCEPT

They presented the first SCHUBERTH flip-up helmet - the CONCEPT - at INTERMOT Munich in 1998. The helmet’s special feature was its integral sun visor. This was a novel development that has become standard today among many premium helmet manufacturers.

2003

C2

Five years later, SCHUBERTH developed the C2. It was possible to optimize this helmet’s acoustics so effectively, that it was the quietest flip-up helmet on the market in its day.

2008

C3

Another five years later, SCHUBERTH rewrote history for the flip-up helmet with the C3. The C3 was not only the quietest, but also the lightest and aerodynamically the best flip-up helmet of its generation.

2012

C3 PRO

In 2012, SCHUBERTH launched the C3 PRO, a helmet that comes with an integral antenna for a communication system. That was unique at the time. Also, by contrast with its predecessor, the PRO was so aerodynamically optimised that it is geared for sporty riding at high speeds.

In addition, SCHUBERTH has developed a model that meets the special needs of female motorcyclists - the C3 PRO Women - with a special fit and particular materials.

2017

C4

Again and again SCHUBERTH confirms its place as the market leader in innovation - with the C4 as well. The new flip-up helmet from our company comes prepared for Plug & Play internal communication system. The field of view is larger for an even wider range of vision. In addition, the integral sun visor is now adjustable in two positions and the seamless lining provides even more comfort on long trips.

Test winner 2017

This year Europe’s leading motorcycle magazine tested twelve current flip up helmets – on the motorway, indoors, and of course on the test bench in the Shock Absorption Test Centre. The SCHUBERTH C4 was the clear winner in six of the eight categories and even achieved the maximum number of points in four disciplines – these included fit/wearing comfort, aerodynamics, and interior equipment. These numerous benefits resulted in a final score of 88 out of 100 possible points and a rating of “Very good“. It’s only been on the market since Spring 2017, but the SCHUBERTH C4 is already regarded as the benchmark for current flip-up helmets.
