Schuberth is supporting tomorrow’s F1 stars

For helmet manufacturer Schuberth, motorsport has been playing an important role since its earliest days. The company from Magdeburg is developing head protection systems for professional drivers like Nico Rosberg and, while doing so, is collecting valuable experience that continuously finds its way into the regular production models. For this reason, Schuberth is also supporting a range of young drivers on their way to the top categories in motorsport. In total, six young drivers between 14 and 25 years of age will be competing for success with Schuberth helmets in Europe. Just like in Formula 1, the main focus point is safety.

They are young, talented and, above all, ambitious: these are the characteristics the six young drivers supported by Schuberth in 2015 have in common. Mick Schumacher (16 years) and David Beckmann (14 years), German champion in junior karting, are racing in the ADAC Formula 4, a newly created, high-class race series. Other drivers to aim at success in single seaters are Maximilian Günther (17 years) and Gustavo Menezes (20 years). These two race drivers are competing in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. One of the graduates of this international category is Sebastian Vettel, the races are held all over Europe. While the four young drivers have their eyes firmly set on Formula 1 as their goal, two further youngsters want to make it to the top in touring car racing. Mirko Bortolotti (25 years) has worked hard to get a contract as a works driver for Lamborghini, Riccardo Agostini (20 years) will be racing in the Porsche Cup.

In 2015, all these drivers will be racing with the high-quality, innovative head protection systems from Magdeburg. Schuberth’s managing director, Jan-Christian Becker, says: “For our company, involvement in motorsport has a long tradition. However, we do not only work together with professional drivers in Formula 1 or DTM, but we also want to support up-and-coming drivers. After all, any driver who wants to make it to the top in motorsport has to work very hard to do so and needs strong partners. We are proud of being able to work with drivers who are already very determined and ambitious to achieve their goals. Moreover, we strongly feel committed to providing the highest safety standards at junior level, too.”
