Moto2 rider Jesko Raffin and SCHUBERTH to race together

The Swiss motorbike rider Jesko Raffin has opted for the expertise of SCHUBERTH, the only helmet maker to manufacture its products in Germany, for the current season. 20-year-old Raffin is placing his trust in the new, extremely light and safe SR2 supersports helmet, which will be officially unveiled at the start of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in Jerez in April.

This is the second season in which Raffin, who was born in Zurich, will compete in the Moto2 category with the Spanish team Sports-Millions-EMWE-SAG. And in this motorsport season, he will be especially well protected as he tackles the racetracks on his Kalex. This is because the expert helmet manufacturer SCHUBERTH is equipping the up-and-coming rider with its SR2 supersports helmet. Raffin already wore the newly developed helmet at the season opener of the second-highest world championship racing series at Losail in Qatar and has therefore experienced its benefits in practice.

The SR2 is extremely light, aerodynamic and quiet. As a motor sportsman, it’s incredibly important for me not to have to worry about safety and my equipment during a race. I can now line up in Argentina feeling very confident and can focus fully on the next race,’ says Raffin.

‘We are delighted that Jesko Raffin has decided to work with SCHUBERTH. His saying that our helmet not only protects his head during a race, but also makes him more focused and more relaxed and therefore clears his head means that we have already achieved an important goal,’ says SCHUBERTH’s managing director Jan-Christian Becker.

'In teaming up with Jesko, we are supporting an ambitious motorcyclist in the Moto2 category. He will wear his SR2 helmet during all races and at all testing events in 2016. This involvement is another step in the expansion of our marketing activities in the area of motorcycle racing,’ says Karine Seyfert, SCHUBERTH’s head of Motorcycle and Racing Marketing.

The successor to the SR1 supersports helmet is the result of five years of experience in motorcycle racing and on the road. Optimised aerodynamics and aeroacoustics, top functionality and maximum safety guarantee that this is the ideal equipment not only for day-to-day use, but also for the racetrack, where every second and every gram count.

All SCHUBERTH helmets are tested and perfected in the company’s own wind tunnel.

SCHUBERTH is actively expanding its involvement in motorcycle racing and is this year equipping the 24 up-and-coming riders in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup with products. The SR2 will be officially unveiled in April at the start of the season in Jerez.
